NME Awards Shows Worth Seeing

NME Announces Award Show Line Ups & Ticket Details

So they’re upon us again. NME’s annual showcase of buzz bands and established alt. bands and artist’s will be setting up residency in the capital throughout February.

The stages of Heaven and The Shepherd’s Bush Empire will witness some sickeningly good  music. Unlike a lot of a lot of the poster children of NME (Kings of Leon, Florence, My Chemical Romance et al.) the line ups aren’t overblown, overly hyped, Twighlight Saga soundtracking stars (Not least of all because KOL wouldn’t go near Heaven these days despite it being pigeon free and why would they? There’s a lot more cash at V Festival).

Reasons To Go To Heaven

Gods’ love sounds nice and according to Cake, sheep go there and there are no goats. But seriously folks…

Sleigh Bells

Sleigh Bells - Derek & Alexis

Sleigh Bells debut album 'Treats' is a speaker wrecking monument of blown-out drum beats, fuzzy guitars & synth-pop.

Sleigh Bells will play Heaven on Valentine’s day and while their style might not be the classic sound of romance we think the vibrations from their Crystal Castles on steriods base lines might just do something for you.

Tickets are £12.70 (including booking fee) and go on sale on Friday December 3rd here from See Tickets.

The Duke Spirit

The Duke Spirirt

The Duke Spirit

The Duke Spirit are stalwarts of the London gigging circuit. The 4 piece’s elegant mix of blues and grunge combined with pop sensibilities produce songs that move from storming indie rock to heartbreaking slow numbers with ease.

The band will line up at Heaven on February 3rd on the last date of their current tour. It should be a great ending. Duke Spirit Tickets are on sale now from See Tickets.

NME London Gigs

Other bands playing at Heaven during the month include: Metronomy, Gang Of Four and Les Savy Fav. Tickets for all of the gigs are on sale through See Tickets and nme.com/tickets.

We’ll be tying up some download speed buying our tickets tomorrow, we hope to see you there for some of these brilliant bands!

Much Love,
